A special event titled "Panel of Conference Organizers (POCO)" was held on 16th May 2026 at Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology (PKIET), Karaikal.
Dr. P. Raghavan, President, IEEE Madras Division was also present on the occasion. Dr. V. Sakthivel, President, IEEE Communication Society. Dr. S. Nagarajan, President, IEEE Madras Division, SAC, Dr. M. Kodeeswaran, Vice President, IEEE Madras Division. Dr. M. Ramalatha, President, IEEE PES Venkatesh Kumar and Dr. M. Venkatesh Kumar, Chairman, IEEE PTC. Dr. Arun was the Chief Guest of the event. IEEE Members Ms. Bhuvaneswari and Mr. R. Raja was also present as delegates.
The event was co-hosted by IEEE Madras Division officials, executive committee members, and volunteers, and featured detailed seminars on IEEE conference-related guidelines, dissertation preparation, review process, conference management and research ethics.
The inaugural ceremony of the programme consisted of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, lighting of the lamp and lectures on IEEE Ethics. Presentations on the 50 years of achievements of the IEEE Madras Division, the activities of the IEEE organization and POCO were also delivered. The Principal of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr. M. Aramuthan delivered the felicitation speech.
In the technical sessions that followed, experts addressed various topics including IEEE Conference Guidelines, Online Submission Methodology, Dissertation Preparation for Major IEEE Conferences, Dissertation Review and Plagiarism Testing, Responsibilities and Benefit Contradictions of Conference Committees.
Faculty and faculty members from PKIET, NIT Puducherry and various educational institutions were present on the occasion. The valedictory function of the evening consisted of programme statement, valedictory address, certificate distribution and vote of thanks.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. R. Tamijetchelvy, Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Dr. A. Sundar, Assistant Professors, and Dr. R. Sathishkumar coordinated the event. All the faculty members, staff and administrative officers were also present on the occasion.
