Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology (PKIET), a constituent college of Pondicherry Technological University, Karaikal, celebrated the 79th Independence Day in a grand manner. The Principal Dr. M. Aramuthan hoisted the National Flag, accepted the parade salute of the students and distributed sweets to all.
In continuation of the celebrations, as announced by His Excellency the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, everyone took a pledge to fulfill our duties and responsibilities with dedication for the security and progress of the nation by promoting our rich cultural heritage without the colonial mindset. The Principal of the college also requested the people to preserve the freedom won by the freedom fighters and inform the people about the importance of freedom.
The students of this college spoke about the freedom that our country attained by sacrificing the freedom fighters and leaders. Heads of all departments, professors, laboratory staff and office staff of the college were present in the occasion.
