» » Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse - Prevention and Control


The PKIET NSS Team in association with Parents Teachers Welfare Association (PTWA), Karaikal have conducted an Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse: Prevention and Control on 12th OCtober 2022. The programme was presided by the District Collector, Karaikal Shri. L. Mohammed Mansoor.

Dr. V. Arulmurugan, Coordinator, Pondicherry University, Mr. A. Vincent, President, PTWA. Mr. E A. Nelson, Vice-Secretary, PTWA, Mr. SPK Suresh Kanna, Vice President, PTWA, Mr. K. Ravichandran, Secretary, PTWA, Dr. M. Aramudhan, HOD/IT, Dr. M. Dhamodaran, NSS Programme Officer, PKIET, the staffs and the students of PKIET were present at the awareness programme.

 The programme begun with the prayer song and the Principal Dr. A Kumar welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Shri. L. Mohammed Mansoor, District Collector addressed the gathering by mentoring the students that the education is not the only tool to employment and that it must be given with moral values.

He advised the students to not to go for drugs when they are depressed and the every human must hold on to their values and ethics to have a good life. He further motivated the students to be good, peaceful and happy life.

Followed by his speech, the PTWA president Shri. A. Vincent addressed the gathering and thanked the collector for presiding the programme by spending his valuable time with us for inspiring the students.

Dr. M. Aramudhan, HOD/IT had introduced the resource person and listed the achievements of Dr. V. Arulmurugan, Professor, PU.

Dr. V. Arulmurugan interacted with the students and discussed with them about their desires in life. He also enlisted the ways to differentiate between the good desires and the bad desires and guided them to train the students to stay away from the bad desires.

The programme was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. E. A. Nelson, Vice-Secretary, PTWA.
